Alif Display Typeface
The typeface is named after the first letter in the Urdu Alphabet. ALIF is inspired by the urdu language, and by how combining letters the unique written language is formed. The typeface was created by keeping in mind these aspects and by the process of repeating the modules inspired from the Urdu alphabets.
Alif Display Typeface is made with an experimental approach to blend the values of two cultures, Roman and Urdu. My vision was to get inspired by the gothic typography since both urdu and gothic typography share the method of repetition. At first some might not understand the alphabets, words or sentences created with Alif, well that's because you are not suppose to. Decipher it.
Alif Display Typeface is available for free as an EPS. file.
